TEAN (teacher education)

I am a founding member of the TEAN committee and currently President. The Teacher Education Advancement Network (TEAN) is the professional development network for university-based teacher educators in the UK. The TEAN annual conference brings together up to 200 teacher educators from across the UK and beyond to share innovation and research focused on teacher education and development. The ‘Becoming a Teacher Educator’ workshops, facilitated by myself with Dr Liz White and Professor Jean Murray are integrated into the TEAN conference and broadly have provided an element of academic induction to around 40% of new teacher educators in the UK over the last 10 years. Visit the TEAN website to get current activity: https://tean.ac.uk/

BLOG POST: My blog post ‘Post Truth Teachers’ raises questions about teachers’ research literacy and the influence of post truth on sources of ‘evidence-based’ professional guidance. It is available at: https://www.bera.ac.uk/blog/being-a-subversive-teacher-educator

ARTICLE: The BERA Blog is based on a longer article, ‘Teachers developing research-informed practice in the post-truth world‘ which is published in the open access RiTE journal and available at: https://insight.cumbria.ac.uk/id/eprint/6492/
